The city’s history can be appreciated in districts such as Asakusa, and in many excellent museums, historic temples, and gardens. Tokyo also offers attractive green spaces in the city center and nearby outskirts.

  • Skytree Tower : Broadcasting and observation tower in Sumida, Tokyo. Tallest structure in Japan at 634 meters, and the second tallest in the world.
  • Tsukiji Market : Traditional wholesale market selling seafood, vegetables, produce, and housewares, established in 1935.
  • Ginza : Top shopping district with upscale boutiques, cocktail and sushi bars, and high-tech electronics stores.
  • Asakusa : Traditional craft shops and street-food stalls along Nakamise Street near Sensō-ji temple. Hanayashiki amusement park and riverside Kuritsu Sumida Park host festivals and fireworks.
  • Akihabara : Electronics and pop culture hub. Home to anime, manga, and video game stores, maid cafes, and collectible shops.
